Have you ever touched a sturgeon? What does that notorious fish of U.S. waters, the snakehead fish actually look like? If you love fish and fishing and want to give your children a chance to experience the joy of catching their first fish, then the Family & Youth Casting Call, part of AFFTA’s National Casting Call, is for you.

Hosted by the C&O Canal National Historic Park and Guest Service Industries, the day provides an opportunity for the public to fish the canal with instruction by industry experts. The action-packed afternoon will give metro-DC residents a chance not just to fish but also to learn more about fish and fishing from some of the country’s leading experts. From a Junior Ranger Badge program, to fly tying instruction from Family Tyes and hands-on exhibits from participating partners, families will have the opportunity to Engage, Explore, Learn and Protect one of our most precious natural resources.
